MAP AND TERRAIN

Skaistkalne (individual race): a unique karst depression terrain, runability good to bad. A mixed coniferous and deciduous forest. Some logging areas. Fallen trees are present.

Map renewed by Vilis and Dagnis Dubrovskis in 2017 and 2018

Sūnupes (relay): primarily deciduous forest, runability good to medium. One prominent hillock and medium-size elevation details and marshes. Participants on the longest courses will also encounter overgrown forest clearings which are still relatively runnable in spring and marshes that are no more than ankle deep.

Map renewed by Leonīds Malankovs in 2018.

Map scale 1:10 000 (except classes MW 16, 18, 20, 21A, 35  will have the scale 1:15 000 for the long course), contours – 2,5 m.

Before the competition it is prohibited to enter the areas of the Latvian Orienteering Federation map 1149 “Skaistkalne”, and map 1088 “Sūnupes”

COMPETITION CLASSES AND THE APPROXIMATE ANTICIPATED COURSE LENGTHS

In the elite classes the individual competition will be held over middle distance, while the remaining categories will run a long course. The participants shall wear number bibs. The bibs will be available at the start.

The proposed course lengths are approximate and could be changed.

A three leg relay competition is held in the following categories: MW 12, 14, 16, 18, 21 and for masters — MW above 120 (the total sum of ages of the competitors) above 145, above 170 and above 195.

When registering for the individual course, the competitors should indicate their first name, surname, year of birth, club, category and SI number (if available),

The registration deadline is 23:59 on 7 May, except Open category.

By registering for the competition the participants confirm that they are responsible for their own health condition.

Entry fees

INDIVIDUAL COURSE

Children (MW 8-10) – free

Youth (MW 12-14) – 5 EUR

Juniors and seniors (MW 16-20 and 60+) – 8 EUR

Adults (MW 21-55) – 11 EUR

Open – 11 EUR

After 8 May it is only possible to apply for the vacant places for a fee that is 50% higher than the ordinary registration fee.

Persons who have registered for the competition but have not taken part are liable to pay 50% of the entry fee.

RELAY

15 EUR per team in the categories MW 12-18 and 24 EUR per team in the categories MW 21, 120, 145, 170 and 195.

After 8 May it is only possible to apply for the vacant places for a fee that is 50% higher than the ordinary registration fee.

Persons who have registered for the competition but have not taken part are liable to pay 50% of the entry fee.
